Many people in the poorer sections of the population are borrowing money at very high rates of interest. Some of these loans are known as “payday loans”, i.e. they assist people in need of money in between the days they are paid.
Today, such excessive interest rates payable by the poor seem not to have any limits, even despite the fact they put excessive pressures on people who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Is this the sign of the times, or just another indication of the inequality of our society?
