Over the last few months we have heard many media commentators trying to define the Arab Spring.
1. Who started it?
2. Why did it occur?
3. When it started, was it designed or occurred naturally?
4. Where is the Arab Spring heading?
Most of what is being said in the media, is usually trying to push one agenda or another. Not many neutral views. It's too early, it will take time and many halt's, re-starts and so on. Social media activists have just got started. The learning curve is steep and so will be the results.

The Archbishop was famous for saying that, sharia law applied to UK Muslims was a good thing, particularly in family law etc. when both parties agreed to abide by rulings of expert sharia bodies.

Millions of people are suffering from famine, hunger and violence in the Horn of Africa region.
Yet there is very little media coverage. Even more concerning is the inadequate level of activity by international governments and NGO’s to raise the massive amounts of funds needed to elleviate the suffering of these people.
I have just been online to check the Dabab refugee camp Kenya, reported to have over 200,000 people living under plastic sheeting spread over sticks. This is shocking and very distressing. What is becoming of us as people? These people need help desperately and now.
The Evening Standard London reports that, the G8 summit in Italy in 2009 promised £13 billion for agricultural projects in Africa. A report states that only one fifth of the money has been donated, with one year to go. This is quite dismal performance by our governments.
Please spend a few minutes and lobby your government ministers, local charities and social organisations to do more.

Today over 2 billion people suffer from daily hunger and poverty. Yet there is no master plan to eradicate such suffering, despite the fact the worlds has enough food and money to end world poverty and hunger now.
People, who are concerned and worried about such failure in the human condition, should start to speak out as a first step. We should start to transmit the message that “In a world of plenty, hunger and poverty is a crime against humanity”.
Over 2 billion people live in abject poverty without clean water to drink, substandard nutrition and woefully inadequate medical care, whilst the wealthy communities of the world are getting richer and consume an ever increasing amount of food and energy.
What can you do to help end Poverty and Hunger?
Start to make donations or invest in charities or social business organisations that tackle poverty and hunger at grass roots via food and medical aid or provide
micro- finance to the poorest section of disadvantaged communities.
Devote your labour and expertise as a volunteer, a few hours weekly or a set period annually. Get involved on a permanent long term basis. Poverty reduction requires a sustained long term effort.
Lobby your government and international organisations to change the unfair trade rules which create poverty by denying the less developed nations access to the large lucrative markets of the rich western nations. It is essential that we allow “the poor communities” access to world markets. It is a proven fact that trade can help the poor to escape poverty with dignity and pride.
Start trading with the poor by buying their goods and services. If you trade directly with the poor they get the maximum benefit, or you can buy via others who are known for giving a fair price to the poor for their goods and services. Donate or sell at cost or at a reduced price items needed by the poor. Sell any items you do not need and remit the cash raised to organisations who are tackling poverty at grass roots.
Whatever you can do to help, please get involved. The option to be just a spectator via your TV screen etc. is there but not very humane. If you want to help to change the world then you must start by “changing yourself first”.
Act now - Fulfill your Social Responsibility.

Many people in the poorer sections of the population are borrowing money at very high rates of interest. Some of these loans are known as “payday loans”, i.e. they assist people in need of money in between the days they are paid.
Today, such excessive interest rates payable by the poor seem not to have any limits, even despite the fact they put excessive pressures on people who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Is this the sign of the times, or just another indication of the inequality of our society?

At last the Muslim world gets its own free to use international website which aims to reduce hunger and poverty in over 200 cities worldwide. Anyone can list for free their product or service online on this website. The only qualification needed is that the product or service must be halal and suitable for family use and viewing. Any product associated with alcohol, gambling, human trafficking or other unseemly nature will not listed.
Currently Sharia.com is available in over 200 cities in the Middle East, North Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and many European Countries where significant Muslim Communities live. More locations will be added as the website’s popularity increases. Companies who need to reach their local communities can sponsor an existing Sharia.com sub-site or a new Sharia.com website can be launched in their location, thus giving them access to their local markets and a chance to put something back into their local customer community.
During the testing phase; cars, vehicle parts, computers, wedding services, mobile phones, Uhud perfumes, taxi services, restaurants, machinery, etc. have been listed and traded via Sharia.com. For example a person based in Hyderabad, Karachi, Cairo or Nairobi can list an item in their local Sharia.com website so that local people can search and view that item. If the item is for international trade, then it can be listed on the Global Sharia.com website, which is fully searchable by anyone anywhere in the world.
These features allow local traders and individuals to trade locally if they want as well as give them access to international import and export markets if they choose.
Sharia.com has been launched to address the increasing poverty in the Muslim world. International statistics show that Muslims form the largest group of poor people in the world. Islamic communities seem to be affected more by war, ethnic conflicts, famine and natural disasters than those of other large religious denominations in the world. Since there is little or no social security in Muslim Countries, it is estimated that today over 500 million Muslims live on or below the poverty line. Despite these huge numbers of people who are suffering daily from hunger and disease, there is very little co-ordinated and effective international effort to address the desperate conditions of these people.
Sharia.com hopes to bring attention to these issues by inviting individuals to join in the trading community. Combining the efforts and interaction of these individuals can be a powerful mechanism to reduce poverty and hunger. The idea is that if you give aid to a person for a few weeks, then they will be hungry again. However, if you offer a person a free method of trading their labour, product or service in their town or city then he or she can create income for living a life of dignity by utilising the free online trading opportunity Sharia.com offers to them.

Sharia.com is a grass roots campaigning community utilising people power to reduce poverty and hunger worldwide. Sharia.com invites all individuals and parties to respond with their ideas and support in order to enable Sharia.com to succeed in its endeavours to reduce world poverty and hunger. Today there is an urgent need to assist poverty stricken people to escape the vicious cycle of poverty, ignorance and disease.
Sharia.com is an idea launched by Mr Shafique Azam who is based in the United Kingdom; its motto is “trade can reduce poverty”. Mr Azam states: “What made me launch Sharia.com is that, I have spend over 20 years working with many of the worlds top 1,000 companies, designing and establish leading edge telecommunications and IT solutions so that they may enhance their business performance and profitability. I am now using this experience and knowledge to develop an Internet Protocol technology solution to address the “digital divide” and the massive wealth inequality that exists in the world today. He goes on to say” addressing the gap between the haves and have-nots is the most important issue facing mankind today and I am prepared to devote the rest of my working life to make a difference”.
