He seems to have missed the fact that we are in the current financial mess because of subsidies and favouritism shown by our government, which are funded by the tax payer.
The Luddites in 1811 opposed machinery and new working practices. Change and innovation in technology and commerce is part of our economic system. Newspapers will survive if people want them.
