York Mosque praised for offering EDL protesters tea

A mosque has been praised for serving tea and biscuits to English Defence League supporters after the far-right group arranged a demonstration there. About six people turned up to protest at the mosque in Bull Lane, York, on Sunday and were invited inside to play football with worshippers. Saudi vegetable seller dies from self-immolation

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — A Saudi newspaper says a vegetable seller who set himself on fire in Riyadh after police confiscated his goods for standing in an unauthorized area has died. Top Brazilian football club Fluminense has asked its supporters and players to abandon an internet campaign encouraging them to pose as Taliban fighters and post the photos online. The campaign began after the club was defeated in a match for the South American Copa Libertadores.
