US intelligence services are spying on the European Union mission in New York and its embassy in Washington, according to the latest top secret US National Security Agency documents leaked by the whistleblower Edward Snowden. One document lists 38 embassies and missions, describing them as "targets". It details an extraordinary range of spying methods used against each target, from bugs implanted in electronic communications gear to taps into cables to the collection of transmissions with specialised antennae. Along with traditional ideological adversaries and sensitive Middle Eastern countries, the list of targets includes the EU missions and the French, Italian and Greek embassies, as well as a number of other American allies, including Japan, Mexico, South Korea, India and Turkey. The list in the September 2010 document does not mention the UK, Germany or other western European states. via www.guardian.co.uk Read more →

New “Jihawg” ammunition claims to offer gun owners a “peaceful and natural deterrent” to the growing threat of radical Islam. How? By putting pork in its ammo to make it “unclean” for radical Islamists. “Jihadists fear being defiled by pork, especially during Jihad,” the company’s website says. “Jihawg ammunition is Haraam or unclean to the Jihadist. So when you hear the radical battle cry- “allahu akbar!” It’s time to put some ham in MoHAMed.” via www.theblaze.com While some seem to like the concept, the controversial ammo has been met with some criticism, even among the firearms community. This unfortunate accidental fall of PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, hopefully will not be too serious. For, if there is anyone in the current Pakistani political scene that has the potential to bring an end to poverty, corruption and miss-management of Pakistan, then it has to be said it is Imran Khan. Many political commentators and “vested interest bag men”, have tried to play down his efforts to date. The attraction of Imran Khan maybe nebulous to some, but, to the average poverty stricken Pakistani Imran Khan, is the change that is long overdue. The issue that is most challenging for Imran Khan and his PTI members is the fickle nature of the Pakistani political party system. In order to overcome these forces PTI members need to double their efforts in these last few days to win over the people who are “sitting on the fence”, not sure who to vote... Read more →
