Jeremy Browne, a Liberal Democrat, said there needs to be a national debate about whether the state should step in to protect young women from having the veil “imposed” on them. via www.telegraph.co.uk Read more →

Many of the changes in my body when I took part in the clinical trial of an intermittent fasting diet, were no surprise. Eating very little for five days each month, I lost weight, and I felt hungry. I also felt more alert a lot of the time, though I tired easily. But there were other effects too that were possibly more important. via www.bbc.co.uk The benefits of fasting shown by a clinical trial proves some of the benefits well known to the Muslim Community. New “Jihawg” ammunition claims to offer gun owners a “peaceful and natural deterrent” to the growing threat of radical Islam. How? By putting pork in its ammo to make it “unclean” for radical Islamists. “Jihadists fear being defiled by pork, especially during Jihad,” the company’s website says. “Jihawg ammunition is Haraam or unclean to the Jihadist. So when you hear the radical battle cry- “allahu akbar!” It’s time to put some ham in MoHAMed.” via www.theblaze.com While some seem to like the concept, the controversial ammo has been met with some criticism, even among the firearms community. This unfortunate accidental fall of PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, hopefully will not be too serious. For, if there is anyone in the current Pakistani political scene that has the potential to bring an end to poverty, corruption and miss-management of Pakistan, then it has to be said it is Imran Khan. Many political commentators and “vested interest bag men”, have tried to play down his efforts to date. The attraction of Imran Khan maybe nebulous to some, but, to the average poverty stricken Pakistani Imran Khan, is the change that is long overdue. The issue that is most challenging for Imran Khan and his PTI members is the fickle nature of the Pakistani political party system. In order to overcome these forces PTI members need to double their efforts in these last few days to win over the people who are “sitting on the fence”, not sure who to vote... Read more →

If my Lord asks me ‘Have you shyness in disobeying me? you conceal your sins from my creation – and with sins you come to me.’ So how will I answer? O woe to me – and who shall protect me? I keep averting my soul with thoughts of hope – from time to time. And I forget what is to come after death – and what is to come after I am shrouded. As if I am guaranteed life (eternally) – and that death will not come to me. And when the severe stupor of death overtakes me – who will protect me? I looked at the faces, is there not from amongst them who will ransom me? I will be asked regarding what I’ve prepared in my life to save me (on the Day of Judgement). Then how will I answer – after I’ve neglected my religion. Woe... Read more →

Saudi was put on a terror watch list after the Boston attack, admits American Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Last week, she refused to answer any questions about the Saudi, calling South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan’s inquiry “so full of misstatements and misapprehension that it’s just not worthy of an answer.” The Saudi national, identified as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, was set to be deported for terrorist activity under section 212, 3B after the Boston Marathon bombings, according to www.theblaze.com sources. Senator Rand Paul states that there must be a review process before a president can authorise drone strikes on a United States citizen. “The president, a politician, Republican or Democrat, should never get to decide someone’s death by flipping through some flash cards and saying, ‘You want to kill him? Yeah, let’s go ahead and kill him,'" Paul said. This is a hot topic covered by an article in Politco Now by Reid J. Epstein. Read more →

Mainstream media channels do not cover news about Islam or Muslims in an adequate manner. Often opinion is passed off as news or major important events are not reported in a timely manner, do not get the coverage they deserve, is biased at best and sometimes just plain Islamophobic. Join in the conversation to make a change. The internet and social media provides democratisation of news distribution. News can come from anywhere at any time from many sources including an individual armed with a smart phone. Traditional media has lost the trusted space it occupied. The individual or the small niche blogger who is honest, accurate and can provide a factual tweet, report or article can win the trust of the people who follow them. Combining efforts of many individuals into one source will give greater exposure to your tweet/news. ShariaWire is supported by ShariaTimes blog giving greater leverage to... Read more →

Shocking behaviour of Politicians on TV in recent weeks has shown that Pakistan does not want them representing the country & it’s great people. Pakistani political commentators also need to learn etiquette before they are allowed to take up valuable airtime. Perhaps TV stations should invite more independent minded people, who do not have to keep putting forward futile, shallow, biased opinions, such as those expressed by the current bunch. Read more →
